TATCHA The Dewy Skin Cream

Not Water Cream — this is the rich cream, described as "liquid silk," not a gel. WH tested 6 months AM/PM: hydrating without oily residue on her skin type. Combo skin: glassy finish, not oily. Very oily skin: may feel too rich with an oiled-skin sensation. Under makeup: skin tint applies like butter; Nicola Coughlan uses it daily under makeup. Jar is purple; no purple tinge on skin. Gold spatula stored in lid. Pea-size or pearl-size is enough; a pea-size nightly lasts roughly 2–3 months. Scent is noticeable (WH called it a "shoulder-slumping aroma"; Space NK says "delicate"). $74/50ml is the knock. Some users break out (one report: 2½ weeks in, badly). Buy if dry-to-combo, you want a dewy/glassy look, and you use it under makeup. Skip if very oily, fragrance-averse, acne-reactive, or you meant to buy The Water Cream.

Kindle Paperwhite 16GB (12th Gen)Everyday Amazon

Kindle Paperwhite 16GB (12th Gen)

Ads SKU, not the Signature Edition (no wireless charging, no auto-brightness sensor, 16GB storage). Near-instant page turns. 7-inch screen at 211g is awkward one-handed; 2021 Paperwhite cases don't fit; bottom power button is easy to accidentally press. Swipe to unlock; the extra swipe when picking it up gets old; ads don't appear on the page while reading. Costs about $20 to remove ads later. Battery life: 12-week claim is Amazon's lab number; real-world is 2–3 months with near-daily reading or 3–4 weeks with casual use. Wirecutter bathtub-tested it for 30 minutes then kept using it. Buy if you read in water or in bed and will tolerate the lock-screen ad. Skip if you use Kobo/EPUB, you need page-turn buttons, or you think $199.99 is a sale price.

Cosori TurboBlaze 6-Qt Air FryerEveryday Amazon

Cosori TurboBlaze 6-Qt Air Fryer

CAF-DC601-KUS. Wirecutter runner-up. Nuggets and fries come out good; wings less crisp than Ninja; heats roughly 1 minute slower to 400°F. ATK tested three cutlets, not four. Does NOT have a shake reminder. First use: wash basket, wipe heating element, run empty at 450°F for 10–20 minutes to burn off plastic smell. Latch is stiff at first. Auto-pause when you pull the basket. Chicken thighs: 390°F for 20 minutes, flip last 5. Large crisper-plate holes — small fries and veg fall through. Cosori markets PFAS-free ceramic; Wirecutter disclosed PTFE in their review; probe measured ~454°F at 450°F setting; TechGearLab confirmed PTFE. We are not a lab — don't sell it as a non-toxic halo. Buy for 6-qt capacity and 450°F max temp. Skip if you need a PFAS-free lab sheet or you refuse to lose small fries through the holes.

Fire TV Stick 4K PlusEveryday Amazon

Fire TV Stick 4K Plus

2025 rename of Fire TV Stick 4K, same hardware. HDMI in, stop using the TV's apps. Cold-launch times: Netflix ~3.1s, Disney+ ~3.4s, Prime ~2.6s (roughly 30% faster than 4K Max in that house). 4K HDR Netflix through four Zoom evenings didn't stutter. Busy network holds 4K until a big download. Stick gets warm after long 4K + Xbox cloud sessions, not shutdown-hot. HDMI extender in the box for wall-mount ports. Remote is the weak point: cheaper than Max, fingerprints in an hour, no backlight, four app keys not remappable. Alexa+ lands car-chase movies on Baby Driver/Drive/Ronin; "Tom Hanks stuck on an island" finds Cast Away; no Plex/Jellyfin voice search. Xbox cloud gaming ~85–95 ms latency: Hogwarts Legacy fine, CoD playable but not competitive. 8 GB fills up. Home UI has ads. Still Fire OS (sideload works); 4K Select is Vega OS. Buy if your TV apps are slow. Skip if you already have Apple TV/Roku or you need a backlit remappable remote.
